Marcus Coleman, CFP® is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Canaan Holdings LLC, a diversified holding company focused on building and developing businesses across business advisory, sports management, and family and talent services.
Marcus brings nearly a decade of experience across financial services and wealth management, with a background in financial planning, investment management, business development, and serving individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and athletes.
A graduate of Syracuse University, Marcus studied Finance and Supply Chain Management while competing as a Division I student-athlete with Syracuse Football. He earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2023 and is a CFA Program Level I candidate.
Marcus founded Canaan with a long-term vision to build an institution that brings together people, expertise, relationships, and resources to develop durable businesses, expand opportunity, and create generational impact.
His leadership philosophy is grounded in a foundational principle: Strategy Follows Structure.
Outside of business, Marcus enjoys reading, hiking, and watching college football. A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, he proudly supports his hometown teams.
